Hillaryis44.org: REAL DEMOCRATS or Racists?

This isn't going to be a lengthy diary but I am wondering about the website Hillaryis44.org. Several friends of mine have pointed to how vicious and racist tone  of the comments  that are left on this website. I honestly believed that it was a anti-clinton website in disguise but when one of my friends tried to leave a "unity" message on the website it wasn't posted.  Does anyone know anything about this website? It seems pretty sophisticated and makes one wonder if some rogue person in the Clinton camp is running the website.

I think for the good of the party, Hillaryis44 should be condemned by us democrats.

These are some of the comments on the website:

"Let's discuss politically Dumb White People and their embarrassing ways, Progressive Barack Obama Osama Bin Laden,"

"you are forgetting that he has NO clue about the real Black experience either. Anyone who has been to Hawaii knows it is the most multi-racial and tolerant place in America. As for the Black experience, he lied about the drugs in his book and went to the church so people would seem him as Black enough

i support hillary... but i support mccain if obama is nomineee.

Ok...I also will be supporting McCain if BO is the nominee!

it's really simple why I don't support Obama.

"He is a proven liar, manipulator, and outsourcer. He wants to throw almost 1 Triilion dollars in Africa for goodness sake, even while we still have people in the USA who are uninsured, impoverished, jobless, and struggling."

"I will never vote for a black man."

THIS HAS GOT TO STOP.

Re: Hillaryis44.org: REAL DEMOCRATS or Racists? (none / 0)

Well, maybe:

I wrote in December about a mysterious pro-Clinton, anti-Obama website called HillaryIs44, a site that floated sharply negative information about Obama long before the word "Rezko" passed the lips of Clinton and her campaign, and that has been the subject of many months of speculation among reporters, bloggers, and campaign staffers.

Now, two sources have identified the site's creator: A New York political activist named Alex Rodriguez, pictured above.

I called Rodriguez yesterday.

"How do you know?" he asked.

I made the case to him that he might as well tell me his story.

He said he'd think about it, and hasn't called back.

Rodriguez has no evident connection to the Clinton campaign.

"He's a freelance political guy," said Cliff Arnebeck, an Ohio lawyer who worked with  Rodriguez in 2004 and 2005.

Rodriguez has long been politically active outside the mainstream of two-party politics. Arnebeck said they met as Perot supporters in 1992.

Ben Smith - A campaign mystery solved: HillaryIs44 Politico 3 Mar 08

As much as one supposes this site is intended to further Hillary's electoral prospects, by recycling campaign material her campaign can't formally touch, it appears to be more like Lisbon during the Second World War, a meeting ground for shady operatives from any allegiance with a common cause only of skullduggery, mayhem and disinformation:

There's no public record linking Rodriguez to Clinton's campaign, and he's not part of her New York political universe. The one of my two sources who had more detailed knowledge of his connection to the site, and who spoke on the condition of anonymity, had no evidence linking him to the campaign.

However, there's some suggestion that some close to the campaign were at least aware of his existence.

When I learned of his identity, I emailed Tracy Sefl, a Clinton consultant who is perhaps best known as the campaign's liaison to Drudge, and whom reporters and insiders have long speculated -- without evidence -- was behind  the site. She was amused to learn that I'd finally linked someone to the site.

"I know very little about this. But I have been tremendously flattered by your opinion of my Web skills and assumptions about my free time," she emailed.

But she did seem, at least, to know Rodriguez's name.

I'd asked her if she knew "Alex." She then made a joke about the Yankee third baseman, also named Alex Rodriguez. But I hadn't supplied the full name of subject of my story, so I asked how she knew his last name.

"I don't know him. I just heard his name somewhere," she said, denying again any role in the site. "I haven't sent this person anything, ever."

It's kinda' the French Foreign Legion of anti-Obama mercenaries, including Republicans, Obama's Chicago enemies and anyone else looking for an outlet for things the mainstream can't legally print in favour of Hillary's candidacy.  Be careful of the company you keep.

Hillary supporters do not hate Barak Obama. We hate the story of an opportunistic young man, with a great gift for oratory, but little experince and poor judgment, who, with the help of a complacent, biased media, wooed the town with a message of "hope" and "change" and "unity", while behind the scenes directed a campaign of "race-baiting" and lies and divisive behavior so abhorrent that many of us will vote for a Republican in November if he is the Democratic nominee. He should have stayed in the Senate for a few more years and worked his butt off building a record on the hard issues, like Hillary has. He should have realized that the "race-baiting" would turn off so many of the older people who remember the Clinton years and the "First Black President" title bestowed on Bill Clinton by black leaders of the time. He should have realized that this is a long campaign, and sooner or later issues like Reverend Wright and Rezko would eventually emerge, tarnishing the "clean" image he is so desperate to maintain. But most of all, he should have realized that we Hillary supporters are a loyal lot. We know she's not perfect, and you know what? We still know she's the best candidate for the job. And we love the fact that she's a fighter - because when it comes right down to it, we know that she will always be in there fighting for us, fighting for the future of our children, and fighting for what is best for this country.

both of them together.

Don't agree (none / 0)

Politically there's a lot of venom on DKos against Hillary's candidacy BUT....

On the few occasions I've seen a sexist comment on DKos (like 'the witch is dead') I've seen a trolling and knocking comment from an Obama supporter. There's no equivalence. Accusations of 'racism' 'separatism' and 'black supremacy' are regularly made against Obama here, and get added mojo.

Go figure

If it is an ad revenue scheme, it still needs to attract traffic, and I suspect most people go to that site to get their prejudices confirmed

Heh.

If the folks that created that site were smart enough to allow posters to embed URLs -- it would be the single biggest source of referrals for MyDD.

Every Hillaryis44.org thread turns into a "I voted diaried this at MyDD --- go rec!!!!" contest.

If you find a poster here that acts like an ass - just check that site... you'll see them there, too.

If it weren't such a poor reflection on Clinton and her supporters - there'd be nothing good about that site.

But as it is - the site makes for a great counterpoint every time some poster here or at DailyKos says smoething stupid.

Sophisticated?  I took a look and no, it's not particularly sophisticated.  Anyone with a few web skills can make something appear sophisticated.  That pink color scheme?  Bizarre - pink is for girls? Anyone can get their opinion on the internet.  Anyone at all.  Anyone can make a site.  There is absolutely no reason to think for a moment that someone from HRC's campaign is running it.  Why would you even think such a thing?  I'm sure there are pro-Obama sites out there that have commenters saying horrific things about Hillary (that is, besides DKos), but my first guess would not be that Barry has hired a staff member to run that site.

i don't mind calling people out for using racist frames or even being racist, if i think it applies, but condemning a whole website for the partisan rancor of its participants seems, well, contrary to the principles we espouse.  remember the first amendment?  hillary's supporters have a right to associate.  no doubt some get carried away.  but i'd rather see it out in the open then suppressed and seething invisible to us...

Ridiculous (2.00 / 1)

Shall I spell it out for you?

1) Being a hillary supporter does not make you a racist.

2) Being a hillary supporter does not give you a pass for making racist comments.

3) Sexist comments against Hillary are still sexist comments whether made by Obama supporters or not

Either you don't see these distinctions, and you're too young to be allowed unfettered access to the internet or, or you know the difference, and are using reverse racism to defend your candidate. And that's even dumber still

"HILLARY = HITLERY! GOOD ONE!"

"While The Klinton Kamp spews everything from Rezko to NAFTA/Canada... the Obama campaign is sitting on the absolute BIGGEST TRUMP CARD THEY HAVE."

"Hillary Clinton is a manipulative b*tch"

"Hillary has gone from trying to be the H.B.I.C (Head B*tch in Charge) to just being a B!"

Guess what, blogs are open forums, people say stupid things. None of the above is a reflection on Barack Obama who hosts his blog, nor does he in any way endorse those sorts of comments. Please accord Clinton supporting blogs the same consideration we give Obama's blog.

Re: Hillaryis44.org: REAL DEMOCRATS or Racists? (2.00 / 1)

In the interest of full disclosure, I am a regular participant at Hillaryis44.

The first thing I will do is to ask the Author of the "Diary" to cite time and date of the comment you quote as "I will never vote for a Black Man."

Secondly, what you probably do not know, is unlike many pro-Obama sites, we do not run people out of the room. No, we, on the whole, do not like Obama, but it is not because he is Black. No, not at all. And if you stayed around long enough to do anything but get hysterical and come post some silly diary that asks the question you do, you would have discovered you had nothing at all to post.

That site is made up of the most interesting, articulate and thought-provoking individuals I have had the pleasure of being around in a long time. The breadth and depth of their experience, professions, involvement in all walks of life AND THEIR ETHNICITY is some of the most diverse I have seen.

They can, WE can, articulate the situations as they see them, with individual thought and argument, which is a lot more than I have seen from many of the Pro-Obama mindless mantras out there.

Yes, we get angry. Yes, we get bawdy. And like all intelligent people, we have a sense of humor, and a GROUP dynamic that allows for this humor to oftentimes make sense only to those of us who have been here for a while. WE KNOW EACH OTHER through our writing style, our moods, and our frame of mind.

We do not always agree. We fight even, and sometimes some get "over the top" in their anger or moods towards others on the site. Some people come and go, others, like you apparently, have one experience and have to run off and, like your Candidate of Choice, complain that someone said or did something you perceived as a slight, and announce it to the world.

As a LIFE LONG DEMOCRAT, I PERSONALLY take offense at your leading question in the title of your Post.

For you to insinuate a "friend" dropped in and was  undone because their "Unity" message was rejected is a stretch. Again, I would like you to cite date and time. As your "friend" well knows, there are time stamps for each post.

Arguably, many of us do not SEE "unity" with Barack Obama. Although we would welcome those who currently support him or may be having second thoughts to become involved in Hillary Clinton's campaign in any way they want to, we, for the most part agree that Barack Obama is NOT the person we want for the Presidency. As I mentioned earlier, it has nothing t do with his ethnicity, but everything to do with his lack of judgment, lack of original ideas, lack of unity, playing the "race card" for his advantage, and his only....and because there are many unanswered questions about his involvement with Tony Rezko, Auchi and more. We wonder why he would be "unaware" of the people freezing in tenements in his district while he got $100 million for Rezko. We wonder HOW he could have never been aware of Wright's real intent. We wonder WHY the Press is SO in his pocket and we wonder why the DNC is AGAIN promoting a candidate WHO WILL LOSE in the General Election.

SOME of us wold rather see McCain as POTUS instead of Obama. At least we know who McCain is. SOME of us WILL vote for Obama if he is the nominee. At Hillaryis44 WE recognize each other's right and responsibility to support the candidate they feel is best FOR THE COUNTRY, OVER AND ABOVE what is BEST FOR THE PARTY, or the MEDIA or the DNC.

But one thing is clear about Hillaryis44 above anything else; That the group of men and women on this site, of all ages, backgrounds, ethnicities, cultures, and religions are working their hearts out to have Hillary Clinton be the 44th President of the United States.

So take your gutter-sniping back to where ever you came from (somethingawful, I would guess), OR have the back-bone to have your "friend" come into the room and identify themselves as either a visitor or an agitator, but as a SPY...well Kristannab...how "DEMOCRATIC" is that?!?! And "heresay" as a basis for your "question". It wouldn't last five minutes in court.

And as an aside...if the site is a pay-per-click ad revenue generator...well then...good for the site owner....making money the good old American Way of Capitalism! Unless, along with free speech...you are against that too.

Re: Hillaryis44.org: REAL DEMOCRATS or Racists? (none / 0)

To all the Obamaopologists this Black American believes Obama is the "WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD" for all the lying and race baiting he's been doing.

But I'm not buying his con game because nobody should get special treatment or entitlement to be the POTUS, especially after having the NEW BLACK PANTHER PARTY recruitment link on his campaign website for months.

This guys is a LOSER and I don't believe anything coming out of his lying mouth.

Oh btw I'm from Hiilaryis44.org and a Christian and is highly Offended by Barack Huckabee Obama's linking all African Americans churches like his Black liberation Theology Church.

Which by the way is MARXIST in foundation and since Obama is an educated person and wrote many books praising his spirital advisors message, I then must conclude he is a MARXIST TOO.

Good Luck with that one for the SDs. If you think the GOP won't do ads on that...you must think the Brooklyn Bridge is for sell too.

CLINTON WILL BE THE NEXT PRESIDENT!!! (none / 0)

This is a ridiculous diary (none / 0)

You can find invective on every third party blog.  If you don't like it, don't go there.  Why come to this blog to organize a boycott of another site?  Obviously we're already here, not over there.  Take it up with the people on Hillaryis44.   Personally this diary smells like concern trolling to me.

Get over it and grow up.  Not everyone who thinks that BO is a lying hypocrite is a racist....they just think he's a lying hypocrite or a pandering political opportuntist.  I really wish that BO supporters would stop playing the race card every time he is critized.  It is beyond tiresome.

Re: Hillaryis44.org: REAL DEMOCRATS or Racists? (none / 0)

This is disgusting. More of the Obama-tons insinuating all Clinton supporters are racist--and you characterize the entire site as racist despite one comment. Needless to say, should I characterize all Obama supporters as sexists because I heard quite a few of them call Hillary a "bitch"?

You people are reaching. This is another reason, in addition to Senator Obama himself, that I refuse to support Obama's campaign--the ridiculous assertion that anyone who votes for Clinton is racist. It's personally offensive to me as a member of Hillaryis44 and I'm sick of the charactarization. You ought to be ashamed of yourself--but it's okay, I hope you have fun crying when your canidiate loses, it will happen in September or November, one way or another.

Re: Hillaryis44.org: REAL DEMOCRATS or Racists? (none / 0)

That article was certainly written by an Obama cult follower. Being against Obama is equated by them with being racist. People are so tired of this deceitful  broken record. Having visited the site many times I can say that people over there are very friendly and they are pro Hillary because she is a better candidate and has a much better chance to win the GE than her racist opponent. Now, this writer probably got desensitized with the unparalleled hatred and vileness that exists towards Clinton in the sites friendly to Bambi, so if people in a pro  Clinton site say he is uggly, inexperienced  and a liar, with zero chances to win the presidency, it's a horrible and racist thing to say.
Now stop whining, visit some bot fiendly sites, and grow a spine.
