This isn't going to be a lengthy diary but I am wondering about the website Hillaryis44.org. Several friends of mine have pointed to how vicious and racist tone of the comments that are left on this website. I honestly believed that it was a anti-clinton website in disguise but when one of my friends tried to leave a "unity" message on the website it wasn't posted. Does anyone know anything about this website? It seems pretty sophisticated and makes one wonder if some rogue person in the Clinton camp is running the website.
I think for the good of the party, Hillaryis44 should be condemned by us democrats.
These are some of the comments on the website:
"Let's discuss politically Dumb White People and their embarrassing ways, Progressive Barack Obama Osama Bin Laden,"
"you are forgetting that he has NO clue about the real Black experience either. Anyone who has been to Hawaii knows it is the most multi-racial and tolerant place in America. As for the Black experience, he lied about the drugs in his book and went to the church so people would seem him as Black enough
i support hillary... but i support mccain if obama is nomineee.
Ok...I also will be supporting McCain if BO is the nominee!
it's really simple why I don't support Obama.
"He is a proven liar, manipulator, and outsourcer. He wants to throw almost 1 Triilion dollars in Africa for goodness sake, even while we still have people in the USA who are uninsured, impoverished, jobless, and struggling."
"I will never vote for a black man."
THIS HAS GOT TO STOP.
A lot has been made about how Obama can't win without white working class voters, women, and latinos. Many have argued that these groups just won't vote for him. I have pointed out without doing the serious number crunching before that this is just not true and that the key to a democratic victory is SOLID African-American support. I have now done the number crunching based on the 2000 and 2004 exit polls for key states such as Pennsylvania and Ohio with the help of others and without a doubt, no matter the maximum increase of voters in Hillary's "voting blocks, " she nor any Democrat can win the White House without SOLID African-American support.
Here's why:
I have been appalled at the responses from supposed Democrats and Hillary supporters in regards to the Rev. Wright situation. As an African-American I have been deeply offended by the comments and even more offended by the lack of outrage from supposed Democrats for so many other REAL issues that face African-Americans and others every day.
I ask you:
This is my first diary entry so go easy on me.
I know that many are upset and confused by what Rev. Wright has said and probably blame Obama but you shouldn't. Don't call him a phony or say that he "should have known." Why? I attend a predominantly Black church and the sermons like those of Rev. Wright do come up but not as often as the media would like to portray. If you notice, his speeches are usually around some event--9/11, Katrina, Christmas. I personally have missed a number of my Pastor's controversial speeches and have only heard about them months later.
These speeches do happen in black churches because unfortunately there are two America's --a black one and a white one. African-Americans view America in a completely different way than whites do and that is the truth. I'm sure that my Pastor has gotten caught up in the moment at times like Rev. Wright and I'm glad that I wasn't there to witness it but it doesn't mean that I should be ashamed that I am a member of XYZ church. Why should Obama? I am sure that Rev Wright has done a lot of good for the community and he may at times go "off" but why should people not vote for Obama because of his Pastor? He rejected and denounced the man immediately so what more is there to do?
I honestly believe that white liberals are uncomfortable with Rev. Wright because many are unfamiliar to Black America. It's okay to be uncomfortable and I think this would now be a good time to address many of the issues that Rev. Wright and other black Pastor's bring up in their sermons.
